About the Author
Sandor A. Sotomayor was born on September 29 in the city of Valparaíso, Chile. From an early age, he exhibited a deep curiosity about the world around him. He grew up in his grandmother's house with his mother and family until his life took an unexpected turn with the passing of his mother at a young age. At the age of nine, he moved abroad, where he resided for nine years and continued to travel intermittently for a total of four years. During this time, he explored various regions of southern Chile, immersing himself in its landscapes and biomes, while also studying foreign languages, with a particular focus on British English and Mandarin Chinese.
Passionate about natural sciences, mathematics, and computer science, he began learning to program at a young age, developing a deep understanding of creating complex multidisciplinary systems. His interest in science led him to participate in various training programs, establishing a strong connection with logic and cutting-edge processes.
His fascination with the scientific world has shaped his path to this day.
The conception of The Necromancer began in late 2020 with a short horror story titled Whintered Mind, whose reception in English-speaking communities exceeded expectations. Driven by the excitement of that reception, Sandor started building a vast literary universe, strongly influenced by the great masters of classic horror from the 70s to the 90s. His writing style, visceral and psychological with supernatural undertones, reflects the influences of Clive Barker, Kathe Koja, William Peter Blatty, Stephen King, Richard Matheson, and Peter Straub. Additionally, he found inspiration in contemporary horror cinema, particularly the work of Damien Leone and his iconic character Art the Clown from the Terrifier saga, whose visceral and grotesque scenes have left a lasting mark on his narrative.
However, The Necromancer is something different. Its story begins with a slow pace, detailing each situation with precision and care. It does not seek to overwhelm the reader, but instead gradually immerses them in a world where the line between reality and the inexplicable becomes increasingly blurred. What initially seems like a medical drama transforms into a tale that challenges the reader's composure, enveloping them in a whirlwind from which perhaps no one will escape.
"I hope you enjoy my first serialized novel as much as I did creating it. This project would not have been possible without the unwavering support of my loved ones."
Sincerely,
Sandor A. Sotomayor
